On this episode, we’ll be discussing how to persuade prospects to do business with you using white papers and other forms of free reports. One of the books we’ll reference is Bob Bly’s White Paper Marketing Handbook, one of my favorites on the topic. White papers can be extremely useful sales tools, especially for companies that provide technical products and services.
One of the key takeaways we’ll be discussing is the 9 characteristics of an effective white paper report. I’ll be sharing some details of a simple white paper I created in my industry 9 years ago that was effective in capturing leads and generating new business in the middle of one of the greatest recessions we’ve ever had. Also, Sean will be giving some takeaways from a copywriter’s perspective on writing white papers that sell your products and services.
Featured Beer
On this episode, Sean is actually drinking an IPA! He was convinced to try a Yellow Rose from Lone Pint Brewery. It pours a hazy yellow-orange and has an aroma of grapefruit, grassy hops, and citrus. You’ll hear Sean’s first impression on this recommended ipa.
I’m having a Black Belle Imperial Stout from Blackstone Brewing Company. This is a limited special release Imperial Stout that is infused with cacao nibs and aged for more than seven months in bourbon barrels. This beer is sweeter than I expected with sweet chocolate followed by bourbon, & dark caramel. Very rich, so you only need one glass.
Enjoy the episode and cheers!
